JXH and Smart Panther Indonesia at IFMAC 2026: Live Teak Cutting in Jakarta

IFMAC 2026 took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 23 to 26 September. JXH joined our local partner, Smart Panther Indonesia (SPI), to demonstrate a single-station AI cutting machine with a 3-metre working length. It was a busy and successful four days, with visitors bringing their own materials and production questions to the booth.

Teak furniture makers put the machine to the test

We welcomed customers from across Indonesia, many of them manufacturers of teak outdoor furniture. Several JXH machines are already in use in Indonesia, so visitors were keen to see how the process could work in their own factories. We also met European customers working with oak, ash and black walnut, as well as manufacturers of wooden tableware.

Each live demonstration drew a crowd around the booth. For many visitors, this was their first close look at a machine that brings board scanning, automatic nesting and cutting into one process—work that would otherwise involve manual marking, hand layout and band-saw cutting.

Seven marked pieces, nine in the AI layout

One customer brought a small rough-sawn teak board, 70 mm thick. Before coming to the exhibition, they had marked out seven pieces by hand at their factory. On that same board, the AI nesting system fitted nine pieces.

The three images below show the board in the vision system, the nesting layout and the cutting process. The machine cut the parts quickly and accurately, giving visitors a direct comparison between the customer’s hand-marked layout and the AI layout on this particular board.

A sold machine and a visit from a familiar face

The exhibition machine was ordered by a customer during the show, with delivery to their factory arranged for after the exhibition.

On the final day, existing customers from the area around Jakarta stopped by to see us. They told us they were pleased with how their machines were performing. One customer even volunteered to pose with a wooden replica of a traditional Chinese halberd—a fangtian huaji—that we had just cut at the booth.

Thank you to SPI for working alongside us throughout the exhibition, and to everyone who visited, brought material for a trial or shared feedback from their factory. We appreciate the trust our Indonesian customers have placed in JXH. We will keep improving our machines and service, with more intelligent solid wood equipment for manufacturers in Indonesia and around the world.
