Customer Challenge

The customer previously followed a long manual process: rough board edge trimming, cutting large boards into smaller pieces, manual line marking, band saw blanking, and then four-axis or five-axis machining. For natural gunstock material, each board has different shape, grain, bark edge and defect conditions, so manual judgment directly affected yield and production stability.

Process Change After JXH AI Cutting

Original Process

  • Rough board edge trimming
  • Large board cut into smaller boards
  • Manual marking and layout
  • Band saw blanking
  • Four-axis or five-axis machining

Current Process with JXH

  • Rough board placed directly on the JXH AI Cutting Machine
  • AI scanning and automatic nesting
  • CNC cutting of gunstock blanks, short stocks and squares
  • Downstream four-axis or five-axis machining

AI Nesting for Two Board Types

The case includes two real layouts from different beech boards and different product combinations. The software places rifle stock blanks, short stock blanks and square blanks into the usable board area while avoiding unusable edges and defects.

Real-Time Production Report

The JXH control system can count processed boards, part quantities, material utilization, board size, material thickness and tool path data in real time during each shift. Reports can be exported as PDF files or printed directly for production management.

On-Site Cutting and Finished Blanks

After AI nesting is confirmed, the JXH B06-0630 cuts the rough board into stable blanks for the next machining step. The customer mainly uses the system before four-axis or five-axis shaping operations.
